ARC16: Dressed to roll - Architect Maarten Douwe Bredero

An office chair with fixed stand but still able to roll around. To be available in sizes Small, Medium and Large. Just as a variation on the standard scheme.

Both seat and back resemble a casual but elegantly draped robe. This chair is plane symmetrical in shape. However, as always seen and experienced at a slanted angle, it's conception analogous to an a-symmetrical evening dress.

Five extended wheels provide a stable platform to float on. The warm and touchable seating material contrasts with the shiny spokes of base metal.

The production demands a metal frame for seat and back, finished with a leather-like slipcover. The spine for the wheels will be a vertical steel axis underneath the seat center.

The three spokes to be made from aluminum. The five wheels are die cast out of plastic.
